But how?
There exist a number of new companies with a similar concept: they distribute a percentage of the revenues they generate from advertisers to their members. They display ad banners on proprietary viewbars, or customized browsers that you download. Then for every minute that you display their software (up to a monthly maximum), you collect a certain amount of money. Furthermore, if you refer others and they sign up for the service, you collect money for every minute that they are connected as well! The potential for income is quite high, for a relatively low amount of effort. Advertisers are willing to pay for this because they believe that 1% of people who view their banners will click on them.
I have listed and summarized the advantages and rates of the companies that "pay you to be on the internet" below. For more information, click on the link and see what they say on their websites. Some payment schemes are quite elaborate. You may choose to download software from all of the companies, or concentrate on a few. They each have different interfaces.
